Every year it's the same. You swear you'll be organised, then it's 19 December and you're panic-buying a candle that smells like "festive linen". Not this year. If you're hunting for gin gifts Australia-wide, for the gin tragic, the wine snob, the coffee obsessive or the uncle who "doesn't really do gin", this guide sorts the whole list in one sitting - with a bottle (or three) made by hand in Sevenhill, in the heart of the Clare Valley.

Every gin we sell is made by Leigh, our distiller, from ferment to bottle, in small batches a few metres up the hill from our tasting room on Jeanneret Rd. No contract distilling, no mystery bulk spirit with a label slapped on. Which makes them the kind of gift that comes with a story - and those are always the ones that get remembered.

Grab a cuppa (or a G&T, we won't judge). Here's how to tick everyone off.

First things first: the Christmas shipping cut-off

The most romantic gift in the world is no use if it turns up on 28 December. A few things worth knowing before you hit "add to cart":

  • We post Australia-wide. Because it's alcohol, an adult signature is required on delivery - so if you're sending straight to someone, make sure there'll be a grown-up home, or send it to a workplace.
  • Australia Post's own cut-offs for Parcel Post sent from South Australia land around Monday 21 December for most interstate capitals, Tuesday 22 December within SA, and earlier for WA (Friday 18 December) and the NT (Thursday 17 December). Regional addresses need extra days. Check the latest on the Australia Post Christmas sending dates page.
  • Our last order date for Christmas delivery is Wednesday 16 December. Order by then and we'll get it out the door in time.

Our advice? Don't leave it until the 16th. Order early and spend the rest of the month smugly watching everyone else panic.

Gin gifts for every personality on your list

Not all gin drinkers are the same, and not all gins should be either. Here's who gets what.

The G&T purist: Signature Gin

For the person whose idea of a perfect evening is a long glass, lots of ice and no fuss. Our Signature Gin is the one that started it all - bright citrus, lemon myrtle and strawberry gum, with a whisper of pepperberry warmth. It's an Australian-style gin that's twice taken silver at the Australian Gin Awards, and it's the base our Bramble is built on.

  • 700ml: $80 / 200ml: $30
  • Pair it with: Mediterranean tonic and a twist of lemon

The one who likes it bold: Navy Strength Gin

Every family has one. They take their coffee black, their curries hot and their gin at 58.8%. Our Navy Strength Gin is juniper-forward with fresh lime, warm spice and a creamy, long finish. It's a cocktail-maker's dream (it holds its own in a Negroni or a Gimlet), and a fine excuse to say "navy strength" in a deep voice.

  • 700ml: $95 / 200ml: $35
  • Pair it with: Indian tonic

The sweet tooth: Bramble Gin

Our most-loved drop, and the one that converts people who "don't like gin". Bramble is our Signature Gin steeped with blackberries - juicy berry up front, a zesty citrus tang and just enough juniper to remind you it's still a gin. Another twice-silver medallist, and the one that makes a gift look extra festive on a table.

  • 700ml: $85 / 200ml: $30
  • Pair it with: lemon soda, ice and a few fresh berries (or shake it into a Bramble Sour)

The coffee snob: Blackbird Coffee Gin

For the friend who has opinions about grind size. Blackbird is our coffee gin, made with cold drip coffee so it's all roasted cocoa and dark fruit rather than burnt espresso bitterness. It's the gin behind the Espresso Martini on our cocktail list - which means you're not just giving a bottle, you're giving them Christmas Day's after-lunch cocktail.

  • 700ml: $85 / 200ml: $30
  • Pair it with: dark soda, or straight into an Espresso Martini (recipes on our cocktails page)

The wine lover: RG23 Riesling Gin or SG23 Shiraz Gin

This is the Clare Valley, after all. We had to.

SG23 Shiraz Gin won Best Flavoured Gin at the 2025 Australian Gin Awards, which makes it the easiest "I put real thought into this" gift on the list. It's made with 2023 vintage Clare Valley shiraz - dark plum, mulberry and a touch of pepper, finishing velvety and long. It's a limited release, so once this vintage is gone, it's gone. Meet SG23 here.

RG23 Riesling Gin is the Clare's most famous grape in gin form - bright, floral and crisp, with green apple, lime and a gentle wine-like acidity. Hand it to the friend who brings riesling to every barbecue. Meet RG23 here.

  • SG23 700ml: $100 / 200ml: $40
  • RG23 700ml: $100 / 200ml: $40
  • Pair them with: lemon soda for SG23, ginger beer for RG23

The "I'm more of a whisky person" person: Barrel Aged Spiced Gin

You know the one. Arms folded, politely declining the G&T. Hand them our Barrel Aged Spiced Gin and watch the arms unfold. It's oak-aged with cinnamon, clove, nutmeg and cassia, so it pours golden and drinks like a light whisky or aged rum - vanilla, oak and a long, toasty finish. Our tagline for it is "sip it like a whisky", and we mean it: neat, or over one big ice cube with an orange twist.

  • Pair it with: a heavy glass, a cheese board, and the last of the Christmas pudding

Gin gift packs and stocking fillers under $50

Not every gift needs to be a full 700ml bottle. Sometimes the best present is a chance to try a few.

Every gin in our range also comes in a 200ml bottle, from $30 - perfect for Secret Santa limits, teacher thank-yous, the neighbour who feeds your cat, or a stocking with a bit of heft to it.

Can't decide? That's what our 200ml gin gift pack is for: choose any three 200ml bottles from our range for $90. Mix and match however you like - three different gins for the curious, or a Bramble double-up for the berry lover. One very happy recipient either way. It's also the smartest way to find out whether someone's a Bramble person or a Navy person before you commit to a big bottle next birthday.

How to build your own gin gift hamper

A bottle on its own is lovely. A bottle with everything needed to make the perfect drink is the gift that gets a photo on Instagram. Here's our hamper formula:

  • One gin. Pick from the personalities above.
  • The matched mixer. Every one of our gins has a perfect serve on our tasting card - Signature with Mediterranean tonic, Navy with Indian tonic, Bramble with lemon soda, Blackbird with dark soda, RG23 Riesling with ginger beer and SG23 Shiraz with lemon soda. Pop in two or three bottles of the right one.
  • A garnish. Lemons for Signature, limes for Navy, a punnet of berries for Bramble, an orange for the Barrel Aged. Or go fancy with a jar of dried citrus wheels.
  • A good glass. A big balloon glass for G&Ts, a heavy tumbler for the Barrel Aged.
  • A handwritten tasting note. Copy the nose, palate and finish from the gin page and tell them how to serve it. Instant gin expert.

Wrap it in a basket, a crate or a tea towel tied with twine, and you've made a $150 hamper for a lot less than the department store wants for theirs.

Give an experience: a gin tasting in Sevenhill

For the person who has everything, give them a reason to get out of the house. A visit to our tasting room at 22 Jeanneret Road, Sevenhill makes a brilliant gift - especially paired with a bottle.

  • Gin tasting flight: $25 for three gins, 20ml pours each with a matched mixer and garnish, guided by our team. Add extra gins for $10 each.
  • The best bit: buy a 700ml bottle after your tasting and you get $25 off - so the flight practically pays for itself.
  • Make a day of it: the kitchen is pumping out pizzas, Friday Night Fish & Chips and Low & Slow Sundays, and Jeanneret Wines and Clare Valley Brewing pour right alongside us. Need more ideas for the trip? Our guide to things to do in the Clare Valley has you covered.

Gin gift FAQs

What's the best gin gift for someone who doesn't usually drink gin?

Bramble is our go-to for gin sceptics - it's fruity and easy-drinking with a gentle juniper backbone. If they're more of a whisky or rum drinker, go for the Barrel Aged Spiced Gin, which is made to be sipped neat or over a single big ice cube.

When do I need to order gin for Christmas delivery?

Order by Wednesday 16 December for Christmas delivery. That's our last order date, and it gives Australia Post time to do its thing. For reference, Australia Post's 2026 Parcel Post cut-offs from SA are around 21 December for most interstate capitals and 22 December within SA, with earlier dates for WA and the NT and extra time needed for regional addresses. Earlier is always better, especially for WA, the NT and regional addresses.

Can I send gin directly to someone as a gift?

Yes - we deliver Australia-wide, and you can send an order straight to the recipient. Because it's alcohol, an adult signature is required on delivery, so choose an address where someone over 18 will be home, such as a workplace.

Do you sell gin gift packs?

Yes - our 200ml gift pack is $90, and you choose any three 200ml bottles from our range. It's perfect for gifting or for trying the range. Every gin also comes in a 200ml bottle on its own, from $30.

Which of your gins have won awards?

Our SG23 Shiraz Gin won Best Flavoured Gin at the 2025 Australian Gin Awards. Our Signature Gin and Bramble Gin have each won silver medals at the Australian Gin Awards.

Can I try the gins before I buy?

Absolutely. A guided tasting flight at our Sevenhill tasting room is $25 for three gins, and you get $25 off any 700ml bottle you buy after your tasting.

Do you sell gift cards?

Yes - gift cards are available online in our shop and at the cellar door in Sevenhill, in $10, $25, $50, $100 and $150 values. Perfect for the person whose bottle you simply cannot guess.

Wrap it up (literally)

Christmas shopping doesn't have to involve a shopping centre car park. Pick a gin for every personality, grab a gift pack for the "too hard" basket, and get your orders in early so Australia Post does the heavy lifting.

Shop the range for Christmas - or if you're heading our way, book a tasting in Sevenhill and do your gift shopping one 20ml pour at a time.
